IT'S NOT JUST 'BREAKOUTS'
Acne isn’t dirty skin. It isn’t random and it isn’t solved by stripping it dry. Acne is a dysfunction of the skin system.
- Oil regulation
- Inflammation
- Barrier disruption
- Bacterial imbalance
- Hormonal influence
At FACEFIT, we don’t attack acne aggressively.
We stabilise the skin first. Then regulate. Then rebuild because over-treatment creates more inflammation and inflammation fuels acne.
What Acne Actually Is
Acne forms when three things happen at once:
- Excess sebum production
- Abnormal shedding of skin cells
- Inflammation within the pore
When a pore becomes blocked, bacteria (Cutibacterium acnes) multiply. The immune system responds. That response creates redness, swelling, and pus. If inflammation is chronic, you get:
- Persistent breakouts
- Post-inflammatory pigmentation
- Scarring
- Ongoing congestion
The goal isn’t to dry the skin out. The goal is to balance it.
1. Salicylic Acid (Beta Hydroxy Acid)
Oil-soluble. Pore-penetrating.
Salicylic acid helps:
- Dissolve congestion inside the pore
- Reduce blackheads and whiteheads
- Calm inflammatory lesions
Used properly, it clears without over-drying the skin.
2. Niacinamide (Oil + Inflammation Control)
Helps by:
- Regulating sebum production
- Reducing redness
- Supporting barrier repair
This is foundational for long-term stability.
3. Retinoids (Cell Turnover Regulation)
Retinoids normalise how skin cells shed. They prevent micro-comedone formation (the beginning stage of acne).
Overuse causes barrier damage and guided use creates long-term improvement.
4. Gentle Hydration
Lightweight hyaluronic acid + barrier lipids prevent dehydration-driven oil rebound.
Hydration is not the enemy of acne. Neglecting hydration is.
5. Targeted Anti-Inflammatories
Ingredients like zinc, green tea extract, and azelaic acid help calm active lesions while reducing post-inflammatory pigmentation risk
